This beautiful Z1000 2008 has been elaborated a little bit in all areas:
Ohlins front suspension taken from a RSV4 whilst the rear suspension was also replaced with a more powerful Ohlins unit.
Brakes: improved using 320mm wave discs, width 5.5mm, Brembo brake calipers with Brembo Racing brake pads, a braided brake line and of course a proven 19x20mm Brembo radial master cylinder.
On the engine itself there were very few changes which were very specific:
Flushing of the cylinder heads
Use of a racing head gasket
Adjustments to the valve fittings
SC Project exhaust without catalytic converter
Changes to the timing
K&N air filter
Changes to the air box frame
Jetprime programmable power module with a dedicated mapping
Crimping of the throttle bodies and the intake manifolds
As you can see from the test bench result, the changes in performance are noticeable as we went from 125.3 bhp to 140.7 bhp
The Z1000 now has an amazing pull until the limiter kicks in without the slightest drop and with the new chassis and changes to the engine, the bike has become a deadly weapon on the curves of the Apennines mountain range whilst looking just as good at Misano where it gives a hard time to all super bike riders.
